Top 15 Keyboard Shortcuts Everyone Should Know

         Use of Keyboard shortcuts can increase your productivity, reduce repetitive work, and help you to work fast. For example, to cut text, you have to move your hands from the keyboard, highlighting with the mouse, choosing 'cut' from the file menu, and then returning to the keyboard. The shortcut is, you can highlight text and press the Ctrl+X. It is faster than the previous method.


 Below are the top 15 keyboard shortcuts:


Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert
      If you want to copy highlighted text or any selected item, you can use either Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert. Both shortcut will perform same(copy) operation. This keyboard shortcut copies the text or item and stores in the clipboard. You can paste the item where you want by using Ctrl+V.


Ctrl+X
      If you want to cut highlighted text or any selected item, you can use Ctrl+X. This keyboard removes the text or item and stores in the clipboard. You can paste the item where you want by using Ctrl+V.


Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert
      This keyboard shortcut paste the text or item from the clipboard. Both shortcut will perform same(paste) operation.


Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y
      Ctrl+Z keyboard shortcut will undo any change.
      Ctrl+Y keyboard shortcut will redo the change.
      i.e. If you press Ctrl+Z, document will become at previous one step modification. If you press Ctrl+Y, document will become at next one step modification. 
                  For example, if you cut any text or any element, pressing Ctrl+Z will undo the cut, i.e. 'cut' operation will be cancelled. 
          These shortcuts can be used multiple times to undo or redo multiple changes.


Ctrl+F
      Ctrl+F is used to find the text present in the current page. When you press Ctrl+F, it opens the Find field tab, where you have to write the text which you want to search in that current page. This operation will highlight the text where ever that is present in that page.


Alt+Tab
      Alt+Tab switches between programs that are open in forward direction. For example, now you are in current program and other programs are running in the background, if you want to go in another program then press and hold Alt key and then press the Tab key to go in each open programs moving forward.


Ctrl+Tab
      Ctrl+Tab switches between tabs in current program. For example, you have multiple tabs open in your browser, if you want to go in other tabs, press Ctrl+tab to switch between tabs.


Ctrl+Backspace
      Ctrl+Backspace will delete a full word instead of a single character.


Ctrl+Left or Right Arrow
      When we press only 'left arrow key', the cursor will move only one character back. but by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing left arrow, the cursor will move one word back at a time instead of one character at a time.
    When we press only 'right arrow key', the cursor will move only one character forward. but by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing right arrow, the cursor will move one word forward at a time instead of one character at a time.


Ctrl+S
      Ctrl+S shortcut key saves the document or other file in almost every program. Use this Ctrl+S shortcut key frequently if you are on any document or file, in case you loose power or any error happens or any other issue that could cause you to any work since the last save.


Ctrl+P
      Ctrl+P shortcut key will open print preview of a document or page which is currently being viewed. Some where this key is used to print a document or a page.


Ctrl+Home
      Ctrl+Home will move the cursor to the beginning of the document. This shortcut key works with almost every document as well as web pages.


Ctrl+End
      Ctrl+End will move the cursor to the end of the document. This shortcut key works with almost every document as well as web pages.


PageUp and PageDown
      PageUp key will move to the previous page of the document.
      PageDown key will move to the next page of the document.


Spacebar
      While browsing Internet, pressing the spacebar key it moves scrollbar down a page. and pressing Shift+spacebar moves scroll up one page.
